  • Today is officially one month on from first finding my breast lump. Unfortunately it was confirmed that I have grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. As grade 3 is the most aggressive and triple negative breast cancer doesn’t respond to any of the oestrogen, progesterone or HER2 treatments, I will start my chemo treatment next Wednesday which will consist of a 5 hour chemo session every 2 weeks for the next 4 months to ensure they blast any cancer cells that might remain in my body. Given triple negatives recurrence rates I’ll be having 3-4 weeks after my chemo to rest before having a double mastectomy. As triple negative is linked to the BRCA1 mutation it also attacks your ovaries so the next step once I’ve recovered from my mastectomy will be to undergo a full hysterectomy to make damn sure this cancer has basically nowhere to return. I’m 33 years old, a wife and a mummy to my beautiful 6 year old and 18 month old girls. CANCER DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE! I haven’t been dealt this shitty card to sook. I might have had to let it take my boobs but I definitely won’t let it take my life. I have too many amazing, beautiful people to live for and grow old with for this to be the end of my story. I truly believe thing happen for a reason and my reason is to blab to as many people who will listen and to just tell my story. My cancer was possibly only there for 2 weeks before I found it! It hadn’t been there long. My breast surgeon is amazed I found it myself! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your boobies girls!!! PLEASE!!! Set a reminder in your calendar for the first of every month, jump into your morning shower and take 5 minutes to do a thorough check.
