KATIE + MICHAEL
Although many couples would think that Winter is the worst time of the year to get married, Melbourne is notorious for sharing each of the four seasons all in one day! One thing many couples don’t realise is that an overcast and cloudy sky is in fact the perfect lighting conditions for Bride and Groom portraits on the big day. The clouds act as a natural diffuser and soften any harsh sunlight. My husband and I got married in January on a sweltering 42 degree day and to top off it off a nice Melbourne down pour for our night time photographs, so it just goes to show that being scared of a Winter wedding doesn’t always need to be so scary. Katie + Michael were brave enough to plan their big day for a day in Winter and the lighting was beyond amazing! One of my favourites to date!
Katie + Michael met in Brisbane) where Katie was from) while Michael was deferred from uni for 1 year. Katie was told that her and Michael were being set up but apparently Michael wasn’t given the memo! Luckily they hit it off anyway and spent every weekend together from April until December when Michael moved back to Melbourne, then Michael asked Katie to move home with him and here they are 11 years later!
Michael proposed at the Nobby’s at Phillip Island. This was special spot to the couple as they always visited the Nobby’s together every time they were at Phillip Island.
Katie opted for a vintage yet elegant theme for their big day. With a chic fascinator, beautiful lace gown and lace wedge heels. She also brought along a clear PVC umbrella in case of any showers which also tied in nicely during their location portraits.
